Amy Castillo, MS, MBA
CEO & Executive Director
Amy Castillo is the CEO and Executive Director of Ability KC. She has over 20 years of experience in healthcare and development and has held leadership positions at Centerpoint Medical Center and Lee’s Summit Medical Center with HCA Midwest Health, Cerner Corporation and Viracor-IBT Laboratories. She holds a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and psychology from the University of Missouri, a master’s degree in exercise physiology from Baylor University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Dallas.

Sherry Early, MBA, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
Sherry Early is the Chief Financial Officer of Ability KC. She has 32 years of experience in the healthcare industry finance field.

Shannon Lepper, PT, MHS, CBIS
Chief Operating Officer
Shannon Lepper, MHS, PT, CBIS, Chief Operating Officer, has dedicated 30 years to Ability KC with invaluable experience across teams during her time including Adult and Pediatric Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation Services and the Driving Program. Shannon’s depth of expertise and knowledge has been critical in executing strategic direction for the success of Ability KC with continual program improvements to address the demand for services across the continuum of care and spectrum of disability.
She is an engaged member of the Metropolitan Community College Physical Therapy Assistant advisory board, American Physical Therapy Association, and has provided valuable contributions to the MS Achievement Center board during her career. Shannon’s caring dedication to Ability KC’s mission is represented in her leadership from operations to culture. She is most proud of the welcoming environment, and sense of community created at Ability KC for those we serve and our team of experts.

Janet Padley, MSEd, CBIS
Chief Impact Officer
Janet Padley, Chief Impact Officer, has 35 years of experience in rehabilitation and education services and has been a leader in program development. She is actively involved in advocating for the need for pediatric rehabilitation services for families and educating the community, referral organizations, and providers on the importance of finding the right placement for children in the continuum of care.
She is a surveyor of medical rehabilitation for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and is an active member of the Kansas City Pediatric Alliance, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society and the Community Disaster Resiliency Network. She has provided leadership in achieving consecutive CARF re-accreditation for Ability KC in the pediatric programs for the past 21 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Central Missouri and a master’s degree in education with an emphasis in special education from the University of Kansas.
