Under the general direction of applicable department leaders and the Practice Manager, the Scheduler performs a variety of administrative and operational tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the Developmental and Behavioral Health Services department. The Scheduler is responsible for supporting the flow management of department programs and projects through scheduling patient appointments, filling cancellation spots, maintaining a full schedule, assisting with patient scheduling for initial and follow-up appointments, managing incoming referrals, ensuring timely processing and appropriate delegation. The Scheduler will enhance the operations process through creating and system implementation, completing the pre-admission process, including intake/registration, verifying insurance and demographic information, obtaining signatures on legal consents, and managing necessary documentation. It is vital to be able to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The Scheduler with serve as a communication link between the admissions registration process and the Practice Manager. This position will assist with front desk coverage as scheduled or requested.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field (e.g., business, logistics, communications, marketing) preferred.
- 3-5 years of work-related experience in a healthcare related office setting and interfacing with patients.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
- Strong initiative and ability to grow within all aspects of responsibilities.
Knowledge/Skills/Licensure/Certification:
- Good knowledge of correct English grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
- Ability to operate standard word processing packages.
- Comfortable with public contact and working with persons with disabilities.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and strong organizational skills desired.
