
BRAIN INJURY
Ability KC provides comprehensive outpatient services to children, adolescents and adults who have survived a traumatic brain injury. Staff and therapists are experienced in treating individuals with mild to severe brain injuries with all levels of physical, cognitive and behavioral challenges.
Ability KC has several staff that are Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) giving them a strong foundation in the best practices for brain injury rehabilitation. In addition, Ability KC offers value added services along with the day program for individuals and families including nursing, case management, social work, psychological services, recreation therapy and education services to help patients achieve success.
Through individualized treatment, Ability KC’s interdisciplinary team work with children, adolescents and adults who have survived a traumatic brain injury to achieve their greatest abilities at home, work, school and in the community. Ability KC therapists are trained with Interactive Metronome, EKSO Exoskeleton System, Vital Stimulation, Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) Cycles and Bioness H200. Many Ability KC therapists are also certified in the use of these pieces of rehabilitation equipment.
