Life Skills & Advanced Life Skills

The Adolescent Life Skills summer program is developed for children ages 11-19 with diagnosis such as brain injury, stroke, cerebral palsy, amputee, spina bifida and spinal cord injury who are preparing to enter adolescence or adulthood. Our expert team focuses on providing adolescents with opportunities to learn and develop physical, cognitive and social skills and how to adapt to situations or activities. Along with learning these skills, the participants will be provided multiple opportunities to apply them to a wide variety of activities that are important for gaining independence within their community, school, and home lives. Ability KC’s specialized life skills programming utilizes a multidisciplinary approach including occupational, physical and speech therapies as well as neuropsychology services.
