Alyssa was a student who benefited from an individualized education program (IEP) in high school. However she was unsure of her path after graduation. Later she decided work was her best option. Alyssa completed a 10-week paid internship with the Staples Program. The Staples Training Program through Ability KC helped offer over 25 individuals with disabilities paid internships. The participants were great candidates for employment due to their training.  Alyssa build many valuable skills in the program. These included  work ethic, teamwork and problem-solving. She also received training for machine operation, packaging, stocking and shipping and receiving. She was offered a permanent position at the Staples Fulfillment Center.
