The position is responsible for the primary front reception activities as answering phones and referring inquiries, maintaining security and safety by following procedures, monitoring daily logs with issuing badges and conducting screenings, mail and delivery coordination, scheduling appointments and meetings, supporting facility room coordination, maintaining employee, program and department directories. Team members regularly support responsibilities across programs and departments. The receptionist will have additional office assignments that may include, but are not limited to purchase orders, payments, and receipts, and other department-based clerical assignments. All duties require maintaining patient/client confidentiality as required by Ability KC policies and procedures. The receptionist works directly with a primary and secondary supervisory model to support the integrated programs and delivery of services. This position may require the performance of other duties as necessary.
Education:
- Associates degree from an accredited college or university in a related field to the position responsibilities, including but not limited to, business, communications, or marketing.
Experience:
- Demonstrated 2-3 years of work-related experience, including but not limited to, office assignment and logistics.
- Demonstrated 2-3 years of communications proficiency in word processing and software tools. i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook tools.
- Demonstrated initiative to grow within all aspects of responsibilities.
- Experience working within a healthcare-based organization and knowledge of associated regulatory protocols, electronic medical record systems, and knowledge of medical terminology desired.
Knowledge/Skills/Licensure/Certification:
- Able to type at least 55 wpm.
- Good knowledge of correct English grammar and its application in a business setting.
- Excellent spelling and punctuation skills.
- Able to operate standard word processing package(s).
- Must be very comfortable with public contact and working with persons with disabilities.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and strong organizational skills desired.
