Outpatient Brain Injury Rehabilitation
Ability KC provides comprehensive outpatient services to children, adolescents, and adults who have survived a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Though TBI can present a number of physical, cognitive, and behavioral challenges, our Certified Brain Injury Specialists (CBIS) can help patients and families overcome their challenges. Through individualized treatment plans, advanced technology, and highly trained providers, we help individuals and families find success at home, school, work, or within their communities.

Case Management serves as a liaison between the insurance provider, medical team, and the patient. Our case managers serve as patient advocates and guide individuals and families throughout their journey at Ability KC. They’ll be able to connect you with the appropriate care team based on your specific challenges and your individual goals.

Ability KC will work collaboratively with patients to develop a treatment plan through our intensive CARF-accredited outpatient medical rehabilitation day program. All services will be tailored to help patients successfully work through their specific challenges and meet their individual goals.

Our services don’t end once a person completes their treatment program. Even when patients and families accomplish all of their care goals and reach their desired milestones, we’ll always be here as a resource to help guide them through the next phases of their lives.

The goal of this program is to help those who have survived a traumatic brain injury to achieve their highest level of function in self-care activities, motor development, cognition, executive functioning, communication, vision, life activities, emergency preparedness, self-advocacy, and social and emotional adjustment. Additionally, this program supports and provides education to help minimize risk of complications due to brain injury and prevent recurrent brain injuries.

Day treatment services take place Monday through Friday between 9 AM to 4 PM, with drop-off and pick-up expected 20 minutes before or after your scheduled start and end time. Outpatient services are offered between 7:30 AM to 6 PM Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 to 4 PM on Friday.
